Every born-again Christian has the Holy Spirit of God living inside him/her. Sadly, many Christians fail to experience the same power that raised Christ from the dead bring life into every aspect of their being, and consequently into all situations they find themselves in.

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. He is not less in power, nor is less in capacity. He was the same power working in creation; the same power that enabled the great men of God in the Old Testament to do great and mighty exploits; the same Spirit that enabled prophets to speak things that are yet to come; and the same Spirit that is with the Lord Jesus, empowering Him to make miracles, and rise from the grave three days after His death.

If you are a born-again Christian who has repented your sin, you need to realise that God has already forgiven you and has deposited the Holy Spirit in you as a guarantee of what is to come. In order for you to experience His power, you’ll need to trust Him, obey Him, and fully depend on Him.

Here are some Bible verses that will help you to rely more on the Holy Spirit of God.

John 14:26 – “But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.”

Romans 8:11-14 – “The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you. Therefore, dear brothers and sisters, you have no obligation to do what your sinful nature urges you to do. For if you live by its dictates, you will die. But if through the power of the Spirit you put to death the deeds of your sinful nature, you will live. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.”

Romans 8:26-27 – “And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will.”

Romans 8:5-6 – “Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.”

Zechariah 4:6 – “So he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.”
