1. Teach them to fear God
Deuteronomy 4:10 Remember the day you stood before the LORD your God at Horeb, when he said to me, “Assemble the people before me to hear my words so that they may learn to revere me as long as they live in the land and may teach them to their children.”Deuteronomy 31:12-13Assemble the people–men, women and children, and the aliens living in your towns–so they can listen and learn to fear the LORD your God and follow carefully all the words of this law. 2. Teach them the priority of life
Matthew 6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.John 6:27 Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. On him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.
Romans 14:8 If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
3. Teach the Bible
Deuteronomy 6:6-7 These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. 4. Teach them to obey
Ephesians 6:1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.Colossians 3:20 Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord
5. Discipline them with love
Ephesians 6:4 Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.Proverbs 13:24 He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is careful to discipline him.Proverbs 29:17Discipline your son, and he will give you peace; he will bring delight to your soul.
