People of faith in the Bible gathered and worshiped God in temples and churches. Churches are not only buildings but also refers to Jesus Christ, ourselves and gathering of believers. It’s a great honor to build the church of God. The following Bible verses tell us about building the church of God.

For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.    – Matthew 18:20

And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades[b] will not overcome it.    – Matthew 16:18

So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up    – Ephesians 4:11-12

Then the whole Israelite community withdrew from Moses’ presence, and everyone who was willing and whose heart moved them came and brought an offering to the Lord for the work on the tent of meeting, for all its service, and for the sacred garments. All who were willing, men and women alike, came and brought gold jewelry of all kinds: brooches, earrings, rings and ornaments. They all presented their gold as a wave offering to the Lord.    – Exodus 35:20-22

The temple I am going to build will be great, because our God is greater than all other gods.    – 2 Chronicles 2:5

What then shall we say, brothers and sisters? When you come together, each of you has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. Everything must be done so that the church may be built up.    – 1 Corinthians 14:26

Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.” They replied, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?” But the temple he had spoken of was his body. After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he had said. Then they believed the scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken.    – John 2:19-22
