Mark 1:32-34

Jesus is in Capernaum on the Sabbath day. He taught in the synagogue where he healed a demon-possessed man. Afterward he went to Simon Peter’s house, where he healed his mother-in-law. And now, at the end of the day, the action heats up. Because it was the Sabbath, the people waited until after sunset to come to see Jesus. And when they came, they brought their family and friends who were sick and demon-possessed. In fact, Mark says that Jesus cast out many demons. Earlier in the chapter, when Jesus had cast an evil spirit out of a man in the synagogue, the evil spirit had publicly screamed out Jesus’ identity. So, now Jesus wouldn’t allow the demons to speak at all because they knew who he was.…
