John 18:1 . He went over the brook Cedron. Cedron, or Kidron, was the name of the deep valley, as well as of the brook which ran through it, on the east between Jerusalem and the mount of Olives. It is mentioned also in 2 Saul. John 15:23. 1 Kings 2:37. It had its name from kedrai, having cedar trees planted on each side.
