CHAPTER 22WINE"He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: He that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich."- Proverbs 21:17THE Septuagint translation has an interesting addition to the proverb in Proverbs 12:2. After "He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread, but he that followeth after vain persons is void of understanding," it adds, "He who is sweet in pastimes of wine-drinking shall have dishonor in his strongholds."
