Written in Syriac. It was the usual liturgy of the Nestorians, composed, according to tradition, in the 1century, by Addeus and Maris, who evangelized Edessa and Seleucia-Ctesiphon. It is now used chiefly by the Nestorians of Kurdistan, and, purged of Nestorianism, by the Chaldean Uniats of Kurdistan and Malabar.
