In the Coptic Rite, Hermopolis and Thebes are suffragan sees; patriarchal residence, Cairo; present administrator Apostolic, Bishop Mark Kouzam of Thebes. Churches, 21; priests, 11; seminary, 1; high schools, 9; primary schools, 19; Catholics of city, 5500. In the Latin Rite, the patriarchate is titular only.
