Site of Mohawk village of Ossernenon, Montgomery County, New York, where Isaac Jogues and his companions, Goupil and Lalande, were martyred by Indians, Goupil in 1642, Jogues and Lalande, 1646. In 1884Father Joseph Loyzance, S.J., erected a small shrine on the hill, with the title of Our Lady of Martyrs. The first pilgrimage was in August of that year.
