Aprosio, Luigi (afterwards ANGELICO), a vicar. general of the Congregation of our Lady of Consolation atn Genoa, was born at Vintimiglia, in the republic of Genoa, Oct. 29, 1607, and entered the Order of the Augustines at the age of fifteen. . He taught philosophy five years; after which he travelled in Italy and settled at Venice in 1639, in the Convent of St. Stephen. He collected the library of the Augustines at Vintimiglia, which made him famous for learning. He died Feb. 23,1681. His principal work is Bibliotheca Aprosiana (Bologna, 1673). See Chalmers, Biog. John McClintock was born October 27, 1814 in Philadelphia to Irish immigrants, John and Martha McClintock. He began as a clerk in his father's store, and then became a bookkeeper in the Methodist Book Concern in New York. Here he converted to Methodism and considered joining the ministry. McClintock entered the University of Pennsylvania in 1832 and graduated with high honors three years later.
