Brady, John Irwin a Methodist Episcopal minister, was born in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, November 10, 1831. He joined the Church in his fifteenth year; received license to preach in 1854; and in 1855 united with the Pittsburgh Conference. In 1862 he volunteered in the Ninety-seventh Regiment Ohio Volunteers, and was commissioned first lieutenant of Company B. Hardship and exposure in the army brought on consumption, on which account he was honorably discharged. He died soon afterwards, victorious, amid great and protracted sufferings. John McClintock was born October 27, 1814 in Philadelphia to Irish immigrants, John and Martha McClintock. He began as a clerk in his father's store, and then became a bookkeeper in the Methodist Book Concern in New York. Here he converted to Methodism and considered joining the ministry.
