Fahlcrantz, Christian Erik a Lutheran theologian of Sweden, was born August 30, 1790. In 1829 he was professor of theology at Upsala; in 1849 was elevated to the episcopal see at Westeras, and died August 6, 1866. He was one of the editors of the
Ecklesiastik-Tidskrift, and published a collection of his writings (Orebro, 186366, 7 volumes). (B.P.)

John McClintock was born October 27, 1814 in Philadelphia to Irish immigrants, John and Martha McClintock. He began as a clerk in his father's store, and then became a bookkeeper in the Methodist Book Concern in New York. Here he converted to Methodism and considered joining the ministry.
