Galilei, Alessandro an eminent Florentine architect, was born in 1691. He resided seven years in England, and on his return to Tuscany was appointed state architect by Cosmo III. He Was invited by Clement XII to Rome, where he erected three superb monuments of art, the facades of S. Giovanni de Fiorentini and S. John McClintock was born October 27, 1814 in Philadelphia to Irish immigrants, John and Martha McClintock. He began as a clerk in his father's store, and then became a bookkeeper in the Methodist Book Concern in New York. Here he converted to Methodism and considered joining the ministry.
