Aristobu´lus, a person named by Paul in Romans 16:10, where he sends salutations to his household. He is not himself saluted; hence he may not have been a believer, or he may have been absent or dead. Nothing certain is known respecting him.

Aristobulus is a Greek name, adopted by the Romans, and in very common use among them. It was also adopted by the Jews, and was borne by several persons in the Maccabæan and Herodian families mentioned by Josephus and in the books of Maccabees.
