When the Genesis mandate from God to Adam was made, nothing was outside man’s control. Then disaster! Sin will prevent Psalm 8:4-6 from becoming reality. The promise in Psalm 8 finds its accomplishment in the Son of Man and only through the Son of Man will man rule with the Son of Man (Jesus restored man’s ability).

God’s plan is not to subject the world to come to angels (v. 5)
God’s plan is for man to rule all things (vv. 6-8a)
God’s plan for man is not yet in force (v. 8b)
God’s plan is awaiting God’s time to fulfill the plan (v. 9)
