Isai 8:14 And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem. A "Sanctuary" is a place of refuge. "Lord, Thou has been our dwelling place in all generations", we read in Ps 90:1. "Thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the Most High, thy habitation" (Ps 91:9)... and again in Ezk 11:6: "And I will be to them a little Sanctuary". What a joy to know that in every time of trouble we may find "A Sanctuary" in Him whose arms are always outstretched, where we may find rest and peace and where we may worship Him. Blessed Lord, Thou Lover of our souls, may we find our refuge in Thee. Amen.
