The Symbol of the Faith I believe in one God, Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all ages; Light of Light, True God of True God, begotten, not created, of one essence with the Father through Whom all things were made. Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became man. He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried; And He rose on the third day, according to the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father; And He will come again with glory to judge the living and dead. His kingdom shall have no end. And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Creator of life, Who proceeds from the Father, Who together with the Father and the Son is worshipped and glorified, Who spoke through the prophets. In one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church. I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the age to come. Amen. The Priest recites the Communion troparia: O Son of God, receive me today as a partaker of Your mystic Supper, for I shall not betray Your mysteries to Your enemies, nor will I give You a kiss as did Judas, but with the thief I will confess You, "Remember me, O Lord, when You come into Your Kingdom." Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. O Heavenly King, Comforter, Spirit of Truth, Treasury of Blessings and Bountiful Giver of Life, Who are in all places and fill all things, come, take Your abode in us' cleansing us of every sin, and, of Your goodness, O Lord, save our souls. Both now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen. Theotokion We acknowledged Him God, Who was incarnate of you, O Virgin Theotokos: intercede with Him to save our souls. The Infirm: Lord have mercy. (12) Priest: Let us pray to the Lord. The Infirm: Lord have mercy. Priest: O Master, Lord Jesus Christ, our Savior, Who alone has the power to forgive sins, and are our Loving God, overlook, we beseech You, the transgressions of Your servant (Name), whether of knowledge or ignorance, granting to him (her) to partake without condemnation of Your immaculate Mysteries, not unto judgment, nor to the increase of sins, but to the cleansing of soul and body, and to the inheritance of Your Kingdom; for You are his (her) help and a firm wall and bulwark against the Adversary, and the purification of his (her) iniquities; for You are our merciful and Manbefriending God, and to You do we send up Glory: to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, both now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen. The Infirm: Lord, I am not worthy that You should enter under my roof, into the house of my soul; for it is all deserted and in ruins, and You have not in me a fitting place to rest Your head; but since You desire to abide with me, I, trusting in Your compassion, have come to You; bid the doors of my unworthy lips to open, that I may be satisfied with You alone; enter into me, and cleanse me from every bodily and spiritual defilement; be You my Helper and Defender, and count me worthy to stand at Your right hand, through the intercessions and supplications of our all; pure Lady the Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary, with all the Saints' who in their generation have been well pleasing unto You, for Blessed are You to the ages of ages. Amen. Prayer of St. John Chrysostom The Infirm: I believe and confess, O Lord, that You are in truth the Christ, the Son of the Living God, that came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the chief; and I believe that This is truly Your own immaculate Body, and this is Your own Precious Blood; wherefore, I pray you, have mercy on me, and forgive all my transgressions, both voluntary and involuntary, of thought, word, and deed; of knowledge and ignorance; and account me worthy without condemnation to partake of Your immaculate Mysteries, unto remission of sins and unto everlasting Life. Amen. When the Confession of the sick one has been heard, Absolution given, the Priest prepares for the Partaking. Spreading the Paten under the chin of the sick one, the Priest gives to him (her) the Holy Mysteries, saying: The servant of God (Name) partakes of the Precious and All; Holy Body and Blood of our Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ unto the remission of sins and everlasting Life.
