Are You Willing To Pay the Price For Revival? by Frieda Hait Some years ago the Lord impressed upon my heart to write these words "Are you willing to pay the price for revival?" I still feel weak that the Lord chose to break my heart. You see I'd known the Lord for many years. I worked in the church faithfully. I was not one to pray "don't pass me by". I was hoping He wouldn't bother me. But the time came after hearing several messages that God pointed His finger at me and said, "Revival is for you." Especially in the one area where Lou Sutera was preaching on that those things that we do in the flesh are as wood, hay ,and stubble. One day when we stand before the Lord they will count as nothing. I'd been faithful. I'd been working hard in that church. And I knew that I needed to turn that self over to the Lord. Anything that I did for Him would be done through his Spirit's power. I'm so grateful that He continues to work in my life. The other day in my morning devotions I read something which again just touched me. It's so true that I would like to share this little thing: "Only the blood of Christ and the indwelling of the Holy Ghost can stop, turn, and reverse sin's deadly work. That is why a once-for-all decision in which I rest upon one moment's experience for a life time is dangerous." And that struck me again. You know, sometimes we feel we go to a revival meeting and we settle everything in the Prayer Room and sometimes things will be rosy and well. But I have found in my experience that if I want revival to continue on a daily basis, on an hourly basis, I have to deal with those things that God shows me. Revival to me is a right relationship with God and with others. I just praise the Lord for how He's not only worked in my life, but enabled me to express myself through music, through poetry. Up to this point I have written many poems and one of the ministries that I believe in a quiet way the Lord has enabled me to carry on is the ministry of encouragement. I know many people are hurting. And I through these poems try to point them to The One who knows the hurts, who understands, and who is strong when we are not strong.
