Lying is one of man’s most natural instincts, especially if he has his back against the wall. Sometimes, the only way out of these situations is through lying lips. God is not at all surprised that man is capable of lying because he got it from the devil when he fell into sin.
Lying may be an immediate escape, but it is a type of sin that results in another sin, which results in another. The cycle of lying will only end if the truth is revealed. And sometimes, even if it does happen, it is easier for the parties concerned to accept the lie rather than the truth.
