Daily Light on the Daily Path or Daily Light is a Christian daily devotional scripture reading published by Bagster & Sons about 1875. It has been reprinted continually since then. My soul shall make its boast in the Lord; the humble shall hear of it and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together.

 Whoever offers praise glorifies Me. 

You are fairer than the sons of men; grace is poured upon Your lips; therefore God has blessed You forever. § The Lord God has given Me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him who is weary. § His mouth is most sweet, yes, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend. All bore witness to Him, and marveled at the gracious words which proceeded out of His mouth. § He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom. § The sword of the Spirit … is the word of God. § The word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword. § The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

 No man ever spoke like this Man!

Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life. § Death and life are in the power of the tongue. § The mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom, and his tongue talks of justice. The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide. § Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard. § I believed, therefore I spoke. Whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. § With the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

 Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. 

You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. § Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom. How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word. With my whole heart I have sought You; oh, let me not wander from Your commandments! When wisdom enters your heart, and knowledge is pleasant to your soul, discretion will preserve you; understanding will keep you. My foot has held fast to His steps; I have kept His way and not turned aside. I have not departed from the commandment of His lips; I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my necessary food. § I have more understanding than all my teachers, for Your testimonies are my meditation. § If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

 Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. 

Be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord. § Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord, and all flesh shall bless His holy name forever and ever. Praise the Lord! For it is good to sing praises to our God; for it is pleasant, and praise is beautiful …  Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praises on the harp to our God. And I heard a voice from heaven, like the voice of many waters, and like the voice of loud thunder. And I heard the sound of harpists playing their harps.

Evening Daily Light

 I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding. 

Therefore take heed how you hear. § Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom. § Above all, [take] the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Great peace have those who love Your law, and nothing causes them to stumble … How sweet are Your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! Through Your precepts I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way. Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. § I have more understanding than all my teachers, for Your testimonies are my meditation. Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. § But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.

 The Spirit expressly says that in latter times some willdepart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits. 

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. § Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment. § I speak as to wise men; judge for yourselves what I say. § Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says. § He who is spiritual judges all things. § Take heed what you hear. § I know your works. You have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars. § Test all things; hold fast what is good. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.

 The ear tests words as the palate tastes food. 

I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make its boast in the Lord; the humble shall hear of it and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together. § The Lord will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly. O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man who trusts in You! § Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name! Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. § Be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things. § Singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. At midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. § Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!
