Each one of us longs to be fulfilled.  By definition, this means to bring to completion.  We long for this and we strive for this in our own hearts and in the world around us.  But how can we truly be fulfilled?  Long ago, an author began a biography with these words: “Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us...”  That author’s name was Luke.  And he was writing about Jesus.  Join us as we journey through Luke’s account of Jesus, who came not only so that we would be fulfilled, but that all of history would be fulfilled as well.

Scandalous. 
Perhaps it's a deep secret, or a hidden trauma. A public sin or a private indulgence. An outspoken anger or a quiet apathy. Each and every one of us have experienced the scandalous and it's consequences. What we might not anticipate, however, is that scandalous can also describe the character and nature of God's healing and saving love. Join us this fall as we journey through the scandalous book of the prophet Hosea.

Road Trip through Numbers: God's manifestation in the midst of our mutiny 
"Are we there yet?" Ah... summer road trips. Where quality family time meets painful proximity. Where the destination can get lost in the distance traveled to get there. The summer road trip is a glimpse into the book of Numbers in Scripture where God called His people to journey with Him to a promised land. Where He manifested Himself among them, but the journey was marked with mutiny. Perhaps not much has changed? Join us this summer as we road trip through the book of Numbers and see God's judgement and mercy through another amazing and relevant perspective.

It was such a category shattering experience for them that it radically changed everything.  And the same is still true all over the world today. We are fast to fill our lives with so many other things than God - we’re fast to outsource the discipleship of our kids to others - we're fast to start our day without God - we're fast to judge - we're fast to be entertained - we need to slow our hearts and also slow our lives, so we can be attentive to what and who really matters: God.

"Breaking the Discipleship Barrier" 
 
Before Jesus left his disciples (learners/students/followers), he called, commissioned and commanded them in a number of instances to make disciples of others too. Today this calling, commissioning, and command still applies to those who follow Him. In reality, this is no easy task. There are many barriers that seem to get in our way to fulfilling this calling. Join us in this series as we cast vision for how to break through some of the most common barriers we face in following Jesus' words to make disciples.

An ambassador is an emissary sent to represent one nation or entity with another nation or entity. As Mr. Sullivan represents the United States and its interests with the Russian government and its people, so the Apostle Paul called the church of Corinth — and us as followers of Jesus — to be Jesus’ ambassadors into the world. How timely! In a time of deep social division and polarization, Paul disciples us with the Corinthians and says we are called to be reconcilers. Having been reconciled to Jesus Christ, we as Christ followers are continually invited to more fully align our hearts and minds with Jesus. Because we live for Him, we also join with Him in His ministry of reconciliation. 
 
 So, for ourselves, we are seeking to be at peace -- reconciled -- in every relationship. Further, we are choosing reconciliation instead of canceling or avoiding or excluding people from our lives. We are looking for every means to balance grace and truth in meaningful relationships that invite people to be reconciled with Jesus who loves them deeply. How can we best represent? How can we best be ambassadors for Jesus’ message of the gospel to our families and friends and others? Paul’s message in 2 Corinthians, chapters 5 and 6 provides answers.

Well check visits.  They are recommended every year.  They are required by many health insurance providers.  They are a snapshot assessing one's health status.  In the book of Revelation, we find Jesus giving seven churches spiritual well checks.  This summer we will learn from these well checks, applying what we learn how to better live out our mission and vision as Christ's church here in our own community and context.
