This passage is about the birth of John the Baptist being foretold. The lesson I gleaned from the passage is that, you must be willing to let God answer your prayers in his own time and way. You also must be willing to let God answer with his power and purpose, not yours. For example, Elizabeth was barren her whole life but God set aside a special son for her, the one that would answer the clarion call of the Messiah!

Jesus helps not only by giving the blind man his sight back, he gives him a whole new lease on life! This also works when receiving Christ as your Lord as Savior. It allows for the Holy Spirit to enter you and provide you with vision and a new life in step with Jesus.

What’s unique about this passage is that it’s the only place where Jesus is said to have experienced joy. So this begs the question "what gives Jesus joy?" What Jesus explains in the verse prior to this passage is that two types of joy exist: Joy of this World and Joy of the Lord! So it is all about priorities and when you place them in the right order YOU give JESUS JOY! JOY: Jesus first, Others second, Yourself third.

I chose the scene of Jesus and the two criminals on the cross as the first installment in order to show that even under the greatest duress, the Christ desired to continue teaching and loving man.
