There is a principal of nature that has a spiritual application; those who sow sparingly reap sparingly. We don't give to get but being stingy with the resources that God has entrusted to us also means we limit our participation in His harvest. Giving is to be a cheerful act of obedience to His promptings in our heart, so that all of our giving is a cheerful participation with Him in what He is doing to advance His kingdom in this world. He is our sufficiency for all things, at all times to empower us to a life of good works.
