"disgrace and dismay" his enemies. Saul had been rejected as king, and yet he is now hounding David, the next King elect if Israel. b. "drive them away" as chaff on the threashing floor - Saul is now just waste product, he is no longer the genuine article. c. "defeat them" as they blunder through life as if on black ice. David is frustrated, but will not lay a finger on Saul, but just asks the Lord to do it.
