FBC Sermon - Matthew 20:24-28 - April 24, 2022

Servanthood, 24 April 2022.

The kingdom that God runs has an opposite hierachy to how human history has defined them for centuries.Humans define that the greatest among us should be served by others, but God defines that the greatest one is a slave servant.

“Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— Matthew 20:26-27”

All of us including the disciples of Jesus has been brainwashed for years by our parents, society, peers and social media slogans of how humans think about greatness, but now, God is calling you out of the years and years of brainwashing.


Jesus invites us to follow him and gives us the option of reformatting our brains with the help of the Holy Spirit and the Word. The loading screen for reformatting process can be faster for some and slower for some, but just as Jesus is patient with his disciples, he will be with us as long as we don’t press the ‘Esc’ button on the reformatting loading screen.
