Isaiah 13:1 was describing the burden that we would face as we warn American Christians, along with the world, of the destruction that is coming.

However, Isaiah takes a drastic shift in Isaiah 13:2 from explaining the burden in verse 1.

Isaiah 13:2 describes “raising a banner” and then Isaiah describes a group of people that want to “enter the gates of the nobles”.

What has happened for these people in verse 1-being a burden to speak with-to all of a sudden they want to speak with nobles?!?!

Jesus mentions a verse from Isaiah chapter 13 in Matthew 24:29. So it is safe to say that one can’t understand the true meaning of what Jesus is telling us in Matthew chapter 24 without understanding what God is telling us through Isaiah in chapter 13.

The correct understanding Isaiah chapter 13 is critical to understanding God’s plan of how events will play out for our time period.
