Kevin starts this study through the book of Malachi by covering the first eight verses. He explains what the prophet was saying to the Jews of Malachi’s day, and also how it applies to us.

The Jews who had returned to the land of Israel after the Babylonian exile were struggling in hardships equated with neighbors that hated them and the Persian empire who ruled over them. As a result, they questioned God’s love for them as the chosen people.

Today, because of the hardships of life many professing believers will voice their doubts about God’s love for them as well.

God speaking through the pen of Malachi offers the answer.

Kevin also explains how Calvinist’s twist Paul’s quoting of Malachi 1:2-3 in Romans 9:13. The Calvinist false teachers use this twisting to say that God hated the baby Esau while in the womb of his mother in support of their TULIP dogma. As Kevin explains, and any careful bible reader knows, God did not say that he hated the baby (Esau) in the womb.
