Matthew 22:23-29

The Sadducees, who do not believe in resurrection, said to Jesus, “Moses declared that if a man dies without children, his brother is to marry the widow and raise up offspring for him. Imagine seven brothers among us. The first married and died without children, so he left his wife to his brother. The same happened to the 2nd and 3rd brothers, down to the 7th. The woman was last to die. In the resurrection, whose wife will she be of the seven? For all were married to her.”

Jesus replied, “You do not know the Scriptures or the power of God. In the resurrection, people will neither marry nor be given in marriage. They will be like the angels in heaven.”
