I'm doing daily Bible verse readings to share, grow, and impact others for good!

Proverbs 4:23 (NLT)
'Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.'

The heart is our core. It is the center of our being. It needs to be shared with others and most guarded as well.

When we have heart failure, the heart cannot pump blood through us and continue to sustain physical life.

Spiritual heart failure is similar. When we decide it is ok to participate in things that don’t grow us or move us forward. We begin to engage things like complaining, gossip, disputes, and anger. These act like poison to us as spiritual beings. And they can create spiritual heart failure - when our faith no longer is pure of heart - we prevent God, our faith, our truth from pumping through us and bringing life to ourselves and others.

So I remind you today. Protect your heart. Engage in the positive, engage in the truth and life and faith - and pump the spiritual life out to yourself and others.
