فنی ایل میں یعقُوب کُشتی لڑتا ہےپیدائش 32 باب 23 تا 32 آیت
(23)اور اُن کو لے کر ندی پار کرایا اور اپنا سب کُچھ پار بھیج دِیا۔
(24)اور یعقُوب اکیلا رہ گیا اور پَو پھٹنے کے وقت تک ایک شخص وہاں اُس سے کُشتی لڑتا رہا۔
(25)جب اُس نے دیکھا کہ وہ اُس پر غالِب نہیں ہوتاتو اُس کی ران کو اندر کی طرف سے چُھؤا اور یعقُوب کی ران کی نس اُس کے ساتھ کُشتی کرنے میں چڑھ گئی۔
(26)اور اُس نے کہا مُجھے جانے دے کیونکہ پَو پھٹ چلی ۔ یعقُوب نے کہا کہ جب تک تُو مُجھے برکت نہ دے مَیں تُجھے جانے نہیں دُوں گا۔
(27)تب اُس نے اُس سے پُوچھا کہ تیرا کیا نام ہے؟ اُس نے جواب دِیا یعقُوب۔
(28)اُس نے کہا کہ تیرا نام آگے کو یعقُوب نہیں بلکہ اِسرائیل ہو گا کیونکہ تُو نے خُدا اور آدمِیوں کے ساتھ زور آزمائی کی اور غالِب ہُؤا۔
(29)تب یعقُوب نے اُس سے کہا کہ مَیں تیری مِنّت کرتا ہُوں تُو مُجھے اپنا نام بتا دے ۔ اُس نے کہا کہ تُو میرا نام کیوں پُوچھتا ہے؟ اور اُس نے اُسے وہاں برکت دی۔
(30)اور یعقُوب نے اُس جگہ کا نام فنی ایل رکھّا اور کہا کہ مَیں نے خُدا کو رُوبرُو دیکھا تَو بھی میری جان بچی رہی۔
(31)اور جب وہ فنی ایل سے گُذر رہا تھا تو آفتاب طلُوع ہُؤا اور وہ اپنی ران سے لنگڑاتا تھا۔
(32)اِسی سبب سے بنی اِسرائیل اُس نس کو جو ران میں اندر کی طرف ہے آج تک نہیں کھاتے کیونکہ اُس شخص نے یعقُوب کی ران کی نس کو جو اندر کی طرف سے چڑھ گئی تھی چُھو دِیا تھا۔
Jacob Wrestles with God
Genesis 32:22 And he rose up that night, and took his two wives, and his two womenservants, and his eleven sons, and passed over the ford Jabbok.
Genesis 32:23 And he took them, and sent them over the brook, and sent over that he had.
Genesis 32:24 And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.
Genesis 32:25 And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him.
Genesis 32:26 And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.
Genesis 32:27 And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob.
Genesis 32:28 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.
Genesis 32:29 And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there.
Genesis 32:30 And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.
Genesis 32:31 And as he passed over Penuel the sun rose upon him, and he halted upon his thigh.
Genesis 32:32 Therefore the children of Israel eat not of the sinew which shrank, which is upon the hollow of the thigh, unto this day: because he touched the hollow of Jacob's thigh in the sinew that shrank.
