Various Kings of Israel and Judah
(2 Kings 15:8-38)

I. ZACHARIAH KING OF ISRAEL (2 Kings 15:8-12)

A. The Details of His Reign (2 Kings 15:8)

1. He began in the thirty-eighth year of Azariah (Uzziah).
2. He reigned in Samaria for six months.

B. The Character of His Reign (2 Kings 15:9)

1. He did evil in the sight of the Lord.
2. He departed not from the sins of Jeroboam.

C. The End of His Reign (2 Kings 15:10-11)

1. He was conspired against and smitten (2 Kings 15:10).

III. MENAHEM KING OF ISRAEL (2 Kings 15:16-22)

1. He smote Tiphsah and all that were therein.
2. He ripped up all the women with child that were therein.

1. Menahem was approached by Pul, the king of Assyria, demanding a tribute (2 Kings 15:19).

IV. PEKAHIAH KING OF ISRAEL (2 Kings 15:23-26)

VI. JOTHAM KING OF JUDAH (2 Kings 15:32-38)

2. He began to reign in the second year of Pekah (2 Kings 15:32).
3. He began when he was twenty-five years old (2 Kings 15:33).
4. He reigned for sixteen years in Jerusalem (2 Kings 15:33).
5. His mother was Jerusha, daughter of Zadok (2 Kings 15:33).

B. The Character of His Reign (2 Kings 15:34-35a)

1. He did right in the sight of the Lord (2 Kings 15:34).
2. He prepared his ways before the Lord his God (2 Chronicles 27:6).
3. He did not remove the high places so the people continued to sacrifice there (2 Kings 15:35a; 2 Chronicles 27:2).

C. The Events of His Reign (2 Kings 15:35b-37)

1. He did much in the way of building (2 Kings 15:35b; 2 Chronicles 27:3-4).
2. He conquered the Ammonites (2 Chronicles 27:5).

4. He warred against Rezin and Pekah (2 Kings 15:37).
D. The End of His Reign (2 Kings 15:38)
1. He was buried with his fathers in the city of David.
2. Ahaz his son reigned in his stead.
