The Captain/Commander of the host of the LORD is 'worshiped' (ESV, RSV cf. KJV, NKJV, HCSB etc.) by Joshua and accepts it and He says “Remove your sandals from your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy" just like YHWH says out of the burning bush to Moses (Ex. 3:5), He seems to be equal with God and yet distinct from God and Jesus has the authority to ask the Father for more than twelve legions of angels (Mt. 26:53). Is Jesus this commander of God's angelic armies? Was this a Christophany in the Old Testament?

Indeed I believe the Son of God (cf. John 5:18, 8:57-59, 12:41, Jude 1:5, Mk. 14:61-61) best fits all of this evidence.
