"We've Got Something to Boast About", Galatians 6:14-16 / Pastor, Dr. Jerome F. Coleman
- The cross is not a subject to avoid, but an object to boast in.
- What should undergird our endeavors is prayer.
- Every time you look at someone and want to point out their behavior, look at yourself and say there before the grace of God and insert your name.
- Sometimes God answers your prayers with thorns to keep you from being conceited, but he'll keep you through your thorns, to pull you closer to him.
- We don't boast just on the cross, but on the one who hung on the cross.
- We've been crucified with Christ.
- Paul made a choice to live the crucified life. The crucified life means to live by faith.
- The crucified life means you will take some losses and there's some things you have to leave behind. But God doesn't give us more than we can handle.
- When you live the crucified life, you're living your true life. Your cup will run over, you have joy no man can take away, you have hope when you're hopeless, you have strength when you're weak and He trades beauty for ashes.
- You are an eternal being, living an earthly experience.
- God has a standard for your life. Your morals, ethics, thinking and logic can't be the same.
- Don't compare yourself to the world standards. You can't compare yourself to sinners. You have to compare yourself to Jesus. When you do, you'll find yourself at the foot of the cross.
