On today's show, we study The Gospel Of John chapter 16 vv, 16-33
While “the world” was sure it had won the day, and Jesus’ followers were shocked and in hiding, just the opposite was actually occurring. To their eyes, it looked like it was all over. In reality, Jesus had just changed the course of history, the church age had begun. The Roman Empire's days were numbered, the temple would soon be reduced to a pile of smoldering rocks, and the ministry of the Holy Spirit began, the gospel went to all the world, and the world saw the greatest and fastest advance in technology, the standard of living, health, and prosperity in all of history. Don’t allow yourself to be taken with grief and anxiety when you see in the headlines that the wicked are prospering. God is sovereign. And it is in times like these that He brings the greatest change and growth to His church. “Be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

Soon after Jesus ascended to heaven, persecution broke out against the church in Jerusalem because of their preaching about Him and His resurrection (Acts 4:1–22). Then Stephen was stoned to death for preaching about Jesus (Acts 7). Following that, a great persecution was directed against the church in Jerusalem, and everyone except the apostles left for other places, preaching the gospel as they went (Acts 8:1). Herod then killed James, the brother of John, and arrested Peter with the intention of executing him as well (Acts 12:1–3). These are just a few examples of life in the early days of the Spirit-filled church, presented in Acts.
And the church EXPLODED throughout the world!
