We Testify by What We Are

We Testify by What We Are

by Robert B. Thompson
“You are my witnesses,” declares the Lord, “and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me. (Isaiah 43:10)
Notice that it does not say, in the above passage, that we would bear witness of Christ. Rather, the statement is that we ourselves are the witness.
In our day man people who worship Allah are entering our country. We Christians must be a witness that there only is one true God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. This does mean we are to be hateful to those of another religion. But it does signify that we are to reveal in our personality that there only is the one true God.
It is not enough that we tell people our God is the only God, although there may be a time for that. Rather we are to demonstrate by our personality and behavior that our God whom we serve is the true God.
I do not believe we give people enough credit for knowing God when they see Him. How could anyone believe that Allah is the true God when his followers often cause misery and destruction wherever they are.
We Christians have been taught that we can replace obedience to the commands of Christ and His Apostles by claiming "grace." As a result we live in the desires of our sinful nature. When the people of the world, including the Muslims, see our sinful, rebellious behavior, they are not convinced that we are serving the true and only God.
