Moses Moves to Midian

Like Joseph and Judah, the entire nation of Israel came of age in a foreign land. Then their cushy life in Goshen became difficult and God chose a man to save them. But he couldn’t be the guy unless God took him to a mountain to meet him face to face. So Moses spent some time in Midian before returning to Israel to deliver God’s people.

1. After killing an Egyptian, Moses fled from Egypt and went to Midian (Exodus 2:14-15).

2. Moses went to live with Jethro, the priest of Midian, after rescuing his daughters at a well (Exodus 2:16-22).

3. After meeting God in the burning bush at Mt. Sinai, Moses returned to Jethro’s house then returned to Egypt (Exodus 3-4).
