XII.(1) Then Jesus six days before the Passover came to Bethany.—The whole question of the arrangement of days during this last great week depends upon the conclusion which we adopt with regard to the day on which our Lord was crucified. The supper was at the house of Simon the leper, a near relation, perhaps the father, of Lazarus and the sisters.
