seventh month. Hebrew name Tisri not known in Scripture (our Sept. - Oct.) The old civil year went out (Exodus 23:16 ; Exodus 34:22 ), known as Ethanim (1 Kings 8:2 ). Tisri = the first month of civil year. Nisan, or Abib = the first month of sacred year. servile = laborious. blowing the trumpets. Compare Leviticus 23:24 . read more
