It was the going out or revolution, the end and beginning of the civil and jubilee year. Exodus 23:16; Exodus 34:22; Leviticus 25:9-10, notes. But to signalize the exode, Abib or March was reckoned the first month of the ecclesiastical or ritual year, and Tisri became the seventh month of the same calendar.
