Shalt = wilt.
thrice: i.e. three denials and a cock-crow; then three more and a second cock-crow; not three cock-crows. This prophecy was uttered three times: (1) John 13:38 , relating to fact, not to time; (2) Luke 22:34 , in the supper room; (3) and last, Matthew 26:34 (Mark 14:30 ), on the Mount of Olives.
