the dead = dead people. Not the same as in Mark 12:26 . No Art. See App-139 .
the living: i.e. those who live again in resurrection. See note on Matthew 9:18 . Therefore they must rise. This is the only logical conclusion of the Lord's argu ment. The whole subject is resurrection.
