2. The liberation of Judah 1:12-13

Emphasis now shifts from Assyria to Judah.

"In the form of an oracle (Nahum 1:12, This is what the Lord says) to two parties in a legal dispute, God pronounces his verdicts alternately to Judah, for her acquittal and hope (Nahum 1:12-13; Nahum 1:15; Nahum 2:2), and to Assyria, for her destruction (Nahum 1:14; Nahum 2:1)."
