Verse 16
Gen 19:16 And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the LORD being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city.
Ver. 16. And while he lingered. ] Or distracted himself with much business, a which David did not. Psa 119:60
The Lord being merciful unto him. ] What is he then to us, in "delivering us from the wrath to come?" 1Th 1:10 Why save we not ourselves from this untoward generation? Act 2:40 Why see we not his mercy to us in our losses and crosses; his hand laying hold on us, when he takes away that which may hinder us from heaven?
