Verse 3
1Ch 28:3 But God said unto me, Thou shalt not build an house for my name, because thou [hast been] a man of war, and hast shed blood.
Ver. 3. But God said unto me, Thou shalt not. ] The best are sometimes crossed in their desires, and must submit to God; going on to do their duty, though they should not have the fruit of it till they come to heaven; howbeit "in the doing" - not only for the doing - of God’s will, "there is great reward." Psa 19:11 This, an ancient calleth Praemium ante praemium.
