Verse 20
Jer 13:20 Lift up your eyes, and behold them that come from the north: where [is] the flock [that] was given thee, thy beautiful flock?
Ver. 20. Lift up your eyes, &c. ] Still he bespeaketh the king and the queen.
Where is the flock that was given thee? ] Thee, O queen regent (for the pronoun is feminine), or thee, O state; Redde, Vare, legiones, said Augustus, bewailing the loss of so many gallant soldiers in Germany, under the command of Varus, who was there also slain.
Thy beautiful flock. ] Heb., Thy flock of goodliness. See Proverbs 14:28 . See Trapp on " Pro 14:28 "
