Ezekiel 41:2

Eze 41:2 And the breadth of the door [was] ten cubits; and the sides of the door [were] five cubits on the one side, and five cubits on the other side: and he measured the length thereof, forty cubits: and the breadth, twenty cubits.

Ver. 2. And he measured the length thereof, ] i.e., Not of the door, as Jerome would have it; but of the temple, the body and basilic thereof, called "the first sanctuary" Heb 9:2

Forty cubits. ] This noteth, say some, the longsuffering and patience of the saints, like as the breadth, twenty cubits, doth their charity.
