9 When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.

And, lo, the star ] A star either newly created, or at least wise strangely carried: for it stands one while, moves another, appears in the lower region, is not obscured by the beams of the sun: so that some have thought it was an angel, a It moved slowly, as might be best for the pace and purpose of these pilgrims.
Till it came and stood over where the young child was ] They show still at Bethlehem a little hole over the place where our Saviour was born, through which the star fell down to the ground.
