Romans 7:9

9 For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.

Ver. 9. For I was alive ] As being without sense of sin, and conscience of duty.

Sin revived ] sc. In sense and appearance.

And I died ] sc. In pride and self-justice.
