1 John 1:2

2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it , and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)

Ver. 2. For the life was manifested ] Christ, who is "life essential," swallowed up death in victory, and "brought life and immortality to light by the gospel," 2 Timothy 1:10 .
