He had, in 2 Kings 13:14-19 , dwelt upon the promises of victory given by the prophet to Joash. He is now bent on relating their fulfillment. But before doing so he recapitulates. 2 Kings 13:22 refers back to 2 Kings 13:3 , and 2 Kings 13:23 to 2 Kings 13:4 and 2 Kings 13:5 .
